Mr. Scherick currently offers two workshops, both designed around his unique approach to mastering cinematic structure and understanding of myth.
The Your Life Is A Movie workshop is intended for individuals who are not necessarily screenwriters but who wish to put the principles of dramactic structure to use in their own day-to-day experience and realize their heroic path in life.
The I Screen, You Screen workshop is an on-going group of screenwriters working on their own projects. It is geared to all levels of screenwriting experience.
Clients are free to attend one or both. The combined intent of both workshops is to improve story telling and screenwriting skills as well as to bring awareness to the unconscious processes that inform our existence. Living an aware life brings mastery to the creative process and significantly raises the quality of our work.
The Your Life Is A Movie workshop came about as a result of Mr. Scherick's African Queen lectures. Atendees seemed to receive significant benefit when Mr. Scherick drew parallels between the story on the screen and situations in their own lives. A light bulb went off over Mr. Scherick's head, he thought, "Eureka! What if we applied story structure to an individual's life and helped them stop playing out a tragedy and start living an heroic epic? I mean, isn't that what myth is about -- teaching us to be heroes?" Fortunately, Mr. Scherick eventually able to calm down and was administered some water.
Your Life Is A Movie workshop examines your life as if it were, well... a movie, then employs the timeless principles of myth to help you chart your own heroic path. This workshop helps you comprehend your purpose in life and offers supports as you embark upon the hero's journey.
I Screen, You Screen is an on-going screenwriters' workshop that allows you to write or develop your own movie idea. Put almost three-decades of professional screenwriting experience to work for you in crafting your next great epic. Get hands-on expertise to guide you through the often confusing process of structuring an effective screenplay. Mr. Scherick posesses an extensive track record of providing unparalleled support to some of the most talented screenwriters.
